Guest hotlatte Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Can someone kind please advice the best way to put mp3 tracks on spv. I mean on the memory card while it is in the phone. Also, would the MP3 tracks play ok with windows media player? Please advice the best possible way to do so.I have just bought it brand new so if someone knows about any decent applications please advice. Thanks in advance.
Guest digger Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Just use ActiveSync via your data cable. I use Pocket Music and BetaPlayer for playing MP3's
Guest Confucious Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 If you are transfering lots of / large files it is far better to get a card reader on the PC and take the card out of your phone. HTH

Thanks in advance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hello and welcome to the board - First off well done on buying the worlds best smart phone, you will never go back believe me  I would also like to say, becuase its me, and basicly im trying to get this as my catchphrase - Never underestimate the power of your manual! Putting MP3s on your phone couldn't be simpler - Personally i favour takeing the Mini SD out, sticking it in a converter - to make it SD size, then sticking it in the reader - but thats not for everyone. To send Mp3's over USB please make sure you have installed active sync, and have sync'd your phone. While active sync is open select the "Explore" button, and you will be put through to the file system on your phone. (sometimes takes a while to load icons) Double click My Smartphone, which displays more folders, then double click STORAGE CARD . . . . then simply drag and drop the files into there (do not place into a folder on the storage card) If you are running XP, and lets face it most people are- you will also be able to see your phone from My Computer - it will be called MObile Device - it does the same thing as above - just saves running active sync ANy MP3 should work fine - though smaller bit rates i.e 128 kbps work really well, and arn't too big . . . to be honest i use WMA format. Hope that helps mate Edited May 19, 2005 by bluesmudge

Cheers bluesmudge...bluesmudge do you know how I can unlock spv c500 digger : where can i download Pocket Music and BetaPlayer from? Are they free? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how do you mean unlock? If you mean IMEI unlock try the ORange over the Air unlock. . . which is the simplest and free way to do it - though i must warn you it has been known to fail becuase it claims you IMEI doesn't exist. anyway try it at this address: http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdefq.aspx OR you can pay £20 for it, but i can't find the link for it so you'll have to track it down on here (it was on here recently) or wait for someone to tell you. IF you mean a diffrent type of unlocking - let me know i'll see if i can help with that . . . OH Beta player etc google for it - or get it from www.coolsmartphone.com -that site is free to join and is absolutly brilliant for smartphone users - has getting started guides etc, and free downloads. Oh and BETA player is free
Guest hotlatte Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Smudge...By unlocking i mean for usage of other simm card. This is so i could use my vodafone simm card on this phone while i move permanently to orange. Would this link let me open it for the other network? Have you tried it ? Thanks
Guest James Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Network Unlock here www.imei-check.co.uk The other unlock is 'Application Unlocking'. it just removes the security from the phone so you are able to install non-signed applications.
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Hang on bluesmudge, you're getting a bit confused there. ;) The address you gave is for application unlocking, to enable installation of non-signed software. SIM-unlocking needs to be done bi IMEI-Check and costs £20. Full details here : http://www.modaco.com/QUICK_LINKS-t117710.html ;) Oh. and Pocket Music costs about £20 from Handango
Guest Confucious Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 (edited) The link I gave you is the one to use. It's £20 and I and many others have used it. [Edit] We seem to all be replying at the same time! The link I gavce is the same as jilowap and Disco Stu. [/Edit] Edited May 19, 2005 by Confucious
