Can't type with phone after updating rom

I was on the European rom, 1.29 i think it was, then i tricked the phone into upgrading to 1.39 cingular rom and now i can't type, i can dial numbers but not letters with predictive text on or off.

Anyone have any ideas how i could fix this?

can you downgrade the cingular rom?

Couldn't find it, i just changed the language to English US and it fixed it, it appears Cingular are too stupid to realise people might use their phones in england :roll:
