Just Downgraded to 1.25 from 1.39

Had 1.25 and upgraded to the latest release 1.39 and now back to the older one!!! Sound $ucks!!!

It was much better and more clear in 1.25 than in 1.39. Even when someone calls me from a home phone, not a mobile, I can hear him but the sound coming is not crisp and clear as it is in 1.25. So, back to the older firmware with the 2-second delay but with better sound quality.

Can anyone else confirm this?

well besides the sound quality what do you think of other improvements that 1.39 has for example the camera quality ?

No 2-second ansering delay. Camera quality remains absolutely the same.

Wow, all u are having problems? I "upgraded" mine and thought it works magnificently. With the exception of the "automatic white balance" on the camera app (overexposes pictures in my opinion). Other than that, the only beef I had with my 1.30 ROM was the miniSD issues (dissapearing MP3s were driving me nuts!), and 1.39 definitely solved those. I don't know, I've only had it for 2 days, so I can't make any definite judgements. But, does anybody have the 1.30 ROM package in case I decide to revert? If so, PM me and I'll give you my email so you can send it to me. Thanx!

No, I've seen no noticable difference from the 1.30 and the 1.39. In fact, I might be decieved, but it sounds a little bit louder than the 1.30. I haven't had any problems with sound quality (except when a Verizon phone calls my Cingular phone, and then they hit a dead zone, then I get that low static void on my end, but that's happened with every phone I've had - stupid verizon ;)). Anyways, maybe your phone isn't able to take the firmware update completely? I don't know why you would be having these problems. Here's my specs on my MPx:

Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition

Version 4.21.1088 (Build 15101.1.3.2)

Radio Version 1.00

...

ROM update versions:

Operator: 0.500.1003.0

Manufacturer: 1.390.0.0

Microsoft: 4.21.15101.0

Language: 0.190.0.0

File System: 4.21.15101.0

Other than maybe the operator or some hardware revision was different, I can't tell you why you would be having the problem with the new ROM. I'll let you know though if I run into problems later because I've only had the new ROM a few days and haven't been able to extensively test it. But could you give me the 1.3 ROM if you've got it, just in case I find something that bothers me too much.

It's not that the sound is bad in 1.39, but compared to 1.25 is not so good regarding the quality. sound level is more or less the same. The phone is a final version phone (HW Revision 6).

Let us know if you run into any problem with 1.39 ;)

did you guys delete the GoTone settings first, and then add your respective carrier's GPRS Settings? that's what i did and i don't have a problem accessing the internet with IE or Opera.

I hope it's not only rumors.. cause if you go to motorola's update site, the tool is still unavaialble and they still say there "if you have 1.30 then you have the latest rom etc" even though you can get 1.39.. Why on earth put 1.39 on their servers without updating their web site first so that everyone would know?!?

Very cool! I'm downloading 1.43 right now. Didn't have to trick the tool with the .xml file either. Downloading directly off of my 1.39 rom. Any idea what the improvements are for this one?

I am still hoping for a bluetooth fix so that my mpx220 will automatically connect with the ihf1000 car kit.... seems to be a Smartphone feature than an actual problem with the phone though.
