Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 I'ts a bit late now but I would have left the phone for a good few days to dry out with the battery removed.
Guest Samsonite Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Wet phones are always bit of a problem... Even if you successfully dry the unit out completely, the water will have ingressed into the gubbins of the handset. It may work normally for a short while but then rust will set in to the bare meattalic bits on the circuit board and all sorts of funnies will occur... You may find that your button action comes back all on its own but if it aint working now, i wouldnt hold your breath... you could always attempt open SPV surgery to assess the situation but you run the risk of making things worse - i have wrecked many a toy by not being any good at re-assembly!! Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but phones and water dont mix...
Guest aden Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Well thank you to the lads that replied, i understand that this may be the end of my e200 but i thought i would try this forum as you lads are world famous for getting smartphone users out the s***.What should be my next buy then if this ones dead? Thanks once again.
Guest Samsonite Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 big question that.... the logical progression would be a C500... Personally, i have a need for a PDA/phone combo so a Jam derivative is for me but its a horses for courses question... i am gonna have a recently refurb'd E200 for sale in a week or two so if you want the same model, keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section or start trawling ebay if you want now now now!!
