Hi Everyone

I'm Hoping someone can help, I have a spv e100 phone, I can send and get text messages, I can recieve calls but when i got to make a call, I get a few short beeps and it goes off.

I tried the simcard in another phone and it was fine, so i know it is a phone problem, The settings have not been changed.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Sue

Hi,

Have you tried other SIM on your e100?

From experience, it is more of a network problem than a phone problem. I even encounter such beeps with my C500 once in a while. I just try to redial the number until I get through. Make sure you also have a decent reception in your area. 2-3 signal bars will do.

Hello and thanks for the advice,

Yes i tried another sim card and still the same, I rang orange and they said they had no problems and it must be the phone, It is like those beeps you get when there is no signal but i have another orange phone that works fine even with the spv's sim card.

This really is weird.

If it is a phone problem then maybe a hard reset could fix it, somewhat the last resort when all else fails.

Be advised that a hard reset will return your phone settings to factory defaults. The process will re-write your IPSM so you get a fresh one.

Make sure you haven't accidently set line 2 for outgoing calls as this gives you three beeps if line 2 is not activated on your SIM. You can check the active line in Settings-Phone-Call Options.

You can also swap between line1 and line2 by holding down the # key so thats why it can be changed unknowingly ;)

The reason you can still receive incoming calls is because people still phone your line1 number as normal.

Yes it does sound like a Line 1/ Line 2 issue, I did the same thing with mine once and couldn't work out why it wasn't making calls.

Also be prepared to ring Orange again, recently my phone started telling me that sometimes the SIM wasn't valid, so I rang, and was told there was nothing wrong witht he SIM card and it must be the phone, so I tried everything, and hard reset in the end.

There was no change, so I rang again, and again, and again, and eventually was sent a new SIM and told to ring to activate it and disactivate my old SIM. I rang and was told that the activation could take 24 hours. 36 hours later there was no change and as it was a Sunday I couldn't ring. So I put the old card in, and voila the old card is no active.

Orange cuctomer service, don't you just love it?
