Guest crypto1969 Posted May 23, 2005 Report Posted May 23, 2005 I have soem custom ringtones laoded on the Storage card of an MPx200 but when I go to Contacts and try to assign one of the tones to the contact it only shows the default ones that came with the phone. I've tried placing them in a Storage card folder called "sounds" and also placing them in the root directory of the Storage card. Any ideas ?
Guest James Posted May 23, 2005 Report Posted May 23, 2005 Storage/Application Data/Sounds this should work for you.

Guest quo Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 first off all, I presume you have wm2003 and there is not storage but mounted volume folder. create dir application data/sounds and put there your ringtones. but be aware, you can use only waw and midi. not mp3. for wma, I really don't know

Guest extravagant Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Nope its runiing Mobile Win 2002. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Try the My Documents folder.
Guest m1.carson Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 (edited) Try the My Documents folder. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi, "sounds" like [sorry about the pun] you need Jeyo personaliser, to find your files. mine play from storage card>sounds> without the need for an application data folder, Jeyo doesn't play the sounds but it lets windows media find them, it's a free application that lets you sort your phone out. Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Ok back to the begining, MPX200 running 2002 has IPSM and not Storage. The name IPSM was changed to Storage when 2003 OS was released. Now for custom ringtones, these need to be placed in IPSM\Application Data\Sounds. You can only use midi0 and wav files for ringtones and custom ringtones. Also with tweaking the registry you can pplace them on the storage card and a guide is posted in the MPX200 section, but I would not recommend you do this as it can make the phone unstable and prone to partial resets.
Guest crypto1969 Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 I finally found the guide for the registry locations that need to be altered, loaded the ringtones to my SD card and it works perfectly. Did this about 4 days ago and no problems or instabillity. Ok back to the begining, MPX200 running 2002 has IPSM and not Storage. The name IPSM was changed to Storage when 2003 OS was released.
