Guest MrSpoons Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 just fiddling around with the registry last night and managed to get it to use a wav file on the storage card when an alarm was set go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Control Panel -> Sounds and have a look at the settings in there. If you go to Reminder and show the values there will be two values. Go to the Sound option and change the directory from IPSMApplication DataSounds...................wav to Storage Cardyour library.......wav. It works a treat The only problem I've got with it now is when you go into the Settings -> sounds menu through the main menu it resets it.
Guest MrSpoons Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 anyone else had a go at this yet?
Guest psneddon Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 There is another setting above that one which seems to define the location of sounds by category. However if you change it to the memory card and go into the settings the phone totally locks up.
Guest Madjules Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I haven't tried the registry change but I am gonna need a way round this. Forget polyphonic ringtones, on this thing you can have absolutely anything you want playing (yes I know it's not the best quality on earth but it's mental) Any song, rip to wav from CD or to wav from mp3 using something like musicmatch and then cut out the section of the song you want using other software. Then I'm using Wav compressor to get the size down by converting to PCM, 22KHz, 16bit, Mono however I'm still getting between 500kb and 1mb which is going to run out of storage space fast plus I want as much free space on the internal memory for the thing to run well. I want to assign loads of different songs for different people in my contacts and also looking forward to getting some sort of picture association so that comes up when they ring too but this means they have to let us put sounds on the storage card. Now I need to find how to get into the registry and how to stop the setting resetting.
Guest EGAN Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 I need some help on this one aswell. Got some ringtones but cant download them becasue it keeps telling me i dont have enough phone memory. I have converted them to WAV files. I think I downloaded IA Style camera thingy or Intersteller Flames game to my phone memory - could I delete it off there and then reload it from my PC again into my Storage Card instead. Or am I only able to download the thing once off the PC ?? HELP !

If you still have the files on your pc, you can install 'em again and again. I had to do this as well, as my phone memory was nearly full. Nowadays i install everything on the storage card and nothing on the phone. This gives you a better performance as well.
Guest yatpeak Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Thanks for this, it'll really save some space on my phone. :) Wyatt
