Unlocked SMT5600 do I need Cingular firmware?

I just received my replacement SMT5600 and it is unlocked and it working properly. Now I am wondering if I should get Cingular to put their firmware on the phone or leave it like it is and remove the AT&T parts as per directions on this site? Will Cingular sim lock the phone if I have their firmware loaded? Is there any feature that I would have access to that I don't currently possess with the AT&T setup. I checked with the local Cingular store today and the dumb broad was a totally useless tool...at least for phone knowledge! She said all phones come with the firmware loaded from the factory and nothing could be done...whatever!!! Need to speak to someone with a brain and don't feel like exerting the effort it may take to get in touch with someone who can help if there is no real benefit by using their firmware, so I am asking you guys first. This has been such a pain and I am really getting tired of dealing with phone vendors and service providers. I still have to prove my first phone was defective in hopes that the money I paid for the unlock code last night will be refunded. I have spent so much time trying to get a functional phone that any excitement or interest has just about been totally killed, and now that I have a working phone I am having a hard time wanting to learn the features that it has!!! BEATEN DOWN!!
