Dismantling C500 dummy phone ?

Hoping that someone can give me some pointers to dismantling a c500 dummy for parts , before I butcher it

How do these dummy's come apart - I cant even get the battery cover off !! :roll:

together with!! ;)

Try taking off the front cover.... I used a razor blade and a old credit card to make a small gap to get my fingers in there to pull it apart... this was the only way to take my dummy display apart... the battery compartment is held together with a weight that is covered in sticky stuff... Hope that helps

Well after keeping mine pristine for six months I dropped it at the weekend and scrached all the black off down one side :cry:

Just taken the plunge and ordered one.

yes I was annoyed the other day after keeping mint for months, I put it in the same pocket as my keys and when I took it out it had a light scratch across the screen :oops:

Anyone tried any scratch remover? I used some on a watch once and it was perfect - it was like a cutting paste for paint - Just not sure if it would work as well on plastic??

For light scratches rub with newspaper - be patient and you should get all the scratches out. Anything much more abrasive and you are likely to make it worse.

Thanks for the reply. I looked around on ebay myself last night and didn't find anything. Is this a common item or do they only come up occasionally? Do you remember your search? I tried "smt5600 dummy" and also looked through everything that came up for just "smt5600".

C500 Dummy phones are always on ebay.co.uk - I guess there's more of them than 5600s - Search for C500 Dummy and you should find them. Don't know if they'r ship to the US though.
