Hi..

Anyone figured out a way to syncronize the C500 phone Contacts with the Business Contacts in Business Contact Manager for Outlook?

Cheers

Never heard of Business Contact Manager

If it's not your default Contacts folder in Outlook (and by that I mean your local Contacts folder) ActiveStink won't do it

Thanks m8

Business Contact Manager is part of Outlook 2003 (Professional) or as an add-in. Really helpful in managing Accoutns and contacts etc...

I guess if I update a Business Contact I need to manually update the Contact in order it will sync with the phone ;)

You would think MS would make it seamless!

I'm playing with some code at the moment which *might* let you automatically sync/copy contacts from any folder you specify to your local Contacts folder - that might solve your problem

I'll post the code here when it's ready and you can give it a try

I read about a solution for syncing these folders somewhere on http://www.cewindows.net/ but I don't have the time to search for it right now. But you can look around. Look for Outlook PCS

Hi, what did you find out? I've had a scan of the site but I can't see an obvious answer to the BCM sync question. I'm thinking of getting an SPV as i belive my Symbian P900 won't sync.

cheers

Sync on the P900 is actually much more flexible than with ActiveSync.

You can specify almost any Contacts list you can see from that machine/account so you probably wont have any problems there.

Yes, I can see any contact list, but can't select more than one to sync. So the trouble is that once I have both business and personal contact lists I can only sync one or other. I really need both on the phone. If anyone knows a way round this that would be ace. :?:

Ah, I see what you mean

The thing they were referring to earlier was this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=EN

If you use that it creates a duplicate of the entries in your "other" Contacts list, which then gets sunc'd to your phone. AFAIK it's a one-way process though - it won't sync changes made in your local Contacts back to your "other" Contacts if you see what I mean

I see, yes. I'm really looking for a seamless sync both ways. Do you know of any other places I can look on the web for help with this?

cheers

The reply from Corey (above) is really helpful. It points you to another website with articles on a plug-in for Outlook called PCS.

It gets round the problem, and works really well. One sync does everything..

Am I missing the point or

if you right click on contacts on activesync and select settings you can either select individual contacts or catorories, create a catagory of business contacts and sync just those.

Hope this helps
