Guest ashley Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 I've not bought my SPV yet as they're out of stock once more in my area, but I have a couple of questions before i flog my old phone and mp3 player: What bit rates will the phone handle? Does the phone read the ID3 tags in mp3s? I've heard bad things about the keyboard - too fiddly to use - is this true or is it a case of getting to know it? Can i use my own headphones?
Guest pupton Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 I have played mp3 @ 160 and it sounded great although 128 is probably better due to the size of the files. Maplin electronics do an adapter that converts the 2.5mm to a standard 3.5mm plug. The phone does display information about the track being played. I quickly got used to the keyboard and I now often whack out huge emails when on the train. The SPV is a great phone and there are many published tweaks to make it run a bit faster. Hope this helps.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 The phone for me has been fine, i wouldn't worry too much about the horror stories some people have experienced. Incedentally WMP only displays the filename and bitrate (why?), and not the full id3 tag. Any other first-starter problems then a search of the forum should throw up answrs to most common problems
