Guest Nekso Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 (edited) Well.. I guess I said it all on the topic.. ;) Are there any smartphones with a touchscreen and UMTS/EDGE available? We have UMTS (3G) in Portugal already for broadband but I can't find any smartphone that takes advantage of that, not even EDGE (2.75G)! Edited May 25, 2005 by Nekso
Guest Tunney Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 In a word, no. There's a pocket PC phone from HTC called Universal due out in the second half of this year that will do UMTS and has a touchscreen. There's no Windows Smartphones with touchscreen or UMTS that I've seen though.
Guest Confucious Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 SmartPhones don't have touchscreens PPCs do. The Motorola A1000 runs Symbian UIQ and is a 3G phone with touchscreen.

I'm sorry but I'm not quite sure about the terms to use. I'm new here, the latest technology I had on a mobile was WAP... ;) Whats the main differences between smartphones and PPC's? The touchscreen? The OS? What does PPC stand for? And from PPC's to PDA's? By the way.. any more PPC's with 3G I should put my eyes on?
