Ok, So I have a great new phone. And let me tell you, I absolutely love it!! ;)

I have had Nokia "Smartphones" in the past and they are really bad compared to this. Of course, there are some things that I miss from the Nokias and some things I need clarification about, but all in all I am in love with this new phone :D

I even bought a 512MB miniSD card for it and also some software from PDAMill. ;)

Ok, to the point.

There are a few things I would like to know...whether they are possible? It was all very simple on the Nokia but its not quite so on this one. I have tried searching for the answers, but even after looking in 18 pages of tips and tricks, I have not found it.

Firstly, is there a way to view message details?? Can I see the time a message was received? It was simple on other phones but today I saw a message I had received but I could not find out what time it had come. It is important for me.

Second. Is there a way to set a max limit for Sent Items (in messages)? I know there is some registry hack for it because I did it earlier (when the phone was brand new) but then i was messing around and had to hard reset (I am a power user). Now, I cannot find where I found that info to set max limit and I have already searched 4 forums for it and also searched the whole of the registry :(

Third. Is there a way I can set Contacts to default to First Name Last name? Like when I add a new contact on the phone? My Outlook is already setup to do this.

Fourth. I always like to keep my RAM (in this case, ROM) absolutely free. I use only the storage card for installing applications and other things. Is there a way for me to keep the storage clean or should I just let it be?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. But for now, just the answers to the above questions, I would be very thankful for! :D

I have already read all the Tips & Tricks listed at various threads in this place. This is a huge resource for the Smartphone and I am so glad it is there :D

Welcome PhoenixAG

I'm glad you like your new phone and the forum ;)

1 You can find the text message date and time by pressing up on the scroll bar when reading the message.

Not sure about question 2&3 off hand.

4. Yep, It's a very good idea to keep all your phone's internal flash memory free and install everything possible to SD card as this keeps the phone from slowing down or even stalling. I also wouldn't worry too much about maintenance on the SD card itself so "speaking words of wisdom, let it be" :D

Thank you so much for replying ;) I definitely will be participating more in the forum. This is a knowledge mine with great people.

I feel a little foolish now that I have found out the answer to the SMS Time and date thing :D Hehe...I didn't even notice that the scroll bar was a little down.

Thank you!! :D

By storage maintenance, I meant the ROM's maintenance. Does it get cluttered up? I noticed that in /Storage/Windows/AppMgr, the folders of the programs I have already installed are there. However, the folders of the programs I once installed and then deleted are also there! This is annoying as these are just taking up space and I will never need them. Any way to get rid of them? When I try to delete them, it doesn't let me. I know I am nitpicking ;)

Also, I noticed the ROM suddenly dip about 500k. But I think that was due to my usage of voice tags recently. It seems to have automatically installed a folder in /Storage/Program Files called SAPI. I searched around for it and I found out it is actually the Speech library from MS which makes the voice tags possible. Correct?

Also, I understand, looking at the various posts here, that if I have too many messages in my Inbox, the phone will slow down. Is it still the case with these newer phones? How many messages do you think can be stored before it starts slowing down? I love to store messages and on my earlier phone, I had about 800 of them.

Sorry to bombard you with questions like this...but I just thought I would ask all the questions I had here, instead of making separate threads and cluttering up the forum.
