Guest the_ape Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Righty oh, got an XDA IIi for my work phone (c500 for my phone), boy did I wish that work had the option of a real phone (Typhoon variant), anyhow they dont so it's this or a Nokia, so this it is. Small problem at the moment, I dont mind the OS, I love my iPaq, however this is the first one I've had with a phone in it... It stops ringing, if you soft reset it, then when you phone it it rings pops up the picture and rings properly, then I'm not sure what I must turn off but after a short while it stops ringning on incoming calls. If it's off it turns on, but does not ring at all. Any ideas what I'm shutting down that I should not, or any applications that I should not run on it? Installed at the minute Wisbar Advance GPRS monitor O2 ActiveUI MS Voice Command Couple of other bits but nothing really important Any ideas? Cheers
Guest boyo69 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 wisbar seems to be the issue according to other posts on this site also, something about SD cards - removing them also can cure the issue i personally have completely stripped all O2 software from my device and it runs superbly - very fast, no lockups or resets etc etc........ just hard reset, then setup and just before the 3 seconds to customise, do a soft reset, then you will have an MS only device ready for customisation......... this seems to really speed up the unit not sure if O2 active is as active as they would like !!! ;)
Guest boyo69 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 ps if you follow the above you will also avoid installing the obligatory Caller_ID which used to cause me lots of problems...... sometimes numbers would appear with no name, sometimes nothing........seems very glitchy........ now without Caller_ID and a clean bubble appears every time with name and number.,....
