Guest Alucardh Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 IVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH DIALING OUT! I KEEP GETTING AN ERROR UNABLE TO MAKE PHONE CALL!!! AND IT JUST BEEPS AND GOES BACK TO THE HOMESCREEN!.....ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep same problem here, I'm from Mexico and my mobile operator is Telcel, this problems seems to appear when something make a error on the phone, I just turn on and then off the flight mode and voila! I can dial again, when this happens and I dial my phone number it gave a busy tone not the usual busy message, maybe is something with the provider or the network, Telcel have a very very very bad service.
Guest jmun2098 Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 yeah well i was thinking it was either my phone or cingular service ....anyway its pretty frustrating when you keep trying to make a call over and over again like 10 times and it wont let you
Guest optikalsaint Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 yeah well i was thinking it was either my phone or cingular service ....anyway its pretty frustrating when you keep trying to make a call over and over again like 10 times and it wont let you <{POST_SNAPBACK}> its actually the cingular service. the problem happens when the tower capacity is full for the GSM frequency that your phone tried making a call on (850/1900 US; 900/1800 EUR). I would go into SETTINGS>PHONE SETTINGS and set the PREFERRED BAND to "auto" if it is not set alreay. this way if one frequency is clogged the phone will jump to the next frequency. if your still getting problems you might want to try a different frequency until you find on that works best for you. if that doesnt help there can be two things wrong: 1) bad radio in the phone, you should be able to have it switched out with a warrenty exchange when the phones are off backorder. 2) to many people in your area and not enough towers. i know where i live in the NW option 2 is a huge problem. Cingular increased their customer database by 300,000 people in 6 months and just havent gotten around to building new towers leaving us only with AT&Ts towers. theyre finally gonna start putting new towers up around the end of june. this might be the case for you, to many people and not enough towers. -opti-
Guest jmun2098 Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 well i know that other cingulars users in my area (norcal) were complaining about not being able to make any calls but i thought it was different from mine because mine said "error".....it might be that, but once i tried making a call with my phone and didnt work and immidiately used my friends cingular samsung phone and it did work ..i was pretty pissed off about that....but if towers are the case then i hope they put some more up asap because like i said earlier its extremely frustrating when you keep trying to call out and it wont go through....
