Guest ONLawson Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 I got myself an M2000 recently (sweet) and installed Activesync, and now get the following error messages on startup (not so sweet). The following programs helpfully tell me they have encountered a problem and have to close: Taskmanager32.exe Cablemodem.exe Notify-alert.exe Printermanager.exe I click on Send Error report and get four of the following error messages: Runtime Error 217 at 00413E5E Typically Microsoft doesn't provide tech support for Activesync! Can anyone help me out of my misery? O.
Guest Confucious Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 What makes you think this is an ActiveSync Error? Have you installe anything else (probably written in Delphi?) I could be wrong but I don't *think* this is an activesync error - IMHO it's either coincidence or installing AS has triggered a problem in another program.
Guest cookie99 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 I've got exactly the same set of errors each time I restart my PC. I'm not sure if I have any effects apart from messages. Checks for a virus found nothing. (Norton Internet Security - Definitions up to date) I have not installed ActiveSync. I do keep getting a problem with explorer.exe hogging the CPU, wondering if you were experiencing the same?
Guest cookie99 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Definetley a virus check for all files dated 08/01/2005 that are 740KB. you will find the offending files all over your PC, in the root of C in allusers/startup etc. I deleted them all seems OK now.
