Guest hotlatte Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 Hi, I wanted to pick your brains. Can anyone suggest a navigation software for spv c500 that i have just bought. I know about tom tom but it is too expensive. I prefer a street walking one rather the "in car" one that requires gps reciever too. Thanks
Guest mstockham Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 Its not the greatest, but for a basic piece of software have you looked at Autoroute 2005? It has pocket streets included, so will give you streets but not footpaths and bridleways. Its only about £50 too, and you have the advantage of Autoroute on your home PC into the deal. Just my 2p worth, I now expect to be shot down in flames for even suggesting pocketstreets! MS Hi, I wanted to pick your brains. Guest chucky.egg Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 If you're looking for a non-GPS navigation package your choices are very limited, the only one I can think of is SmartLocator (search these forums for that) It can show you a street-level map centred on your position (established from your GSM-determined location). If you're thinking of getting a GPS (they're only about £50 now) you can then go on to SmartLocator GPS, or something more advanced like Mapopolis (which I found better than TomTom at "on foot" directions).
