Guest GX1 Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 This is my first smartphone (SMT5600) and I notice that turning the phone "ON" or "OFF" is very slow (almost a minute). Is there anyway possible to speed this up. It's a shame that I may have to keep the phone on all the time. I like this phone, but the startup and shut down is way too long. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 It is possible by altering the registry but you would be making the phone unstable and risk partial resetting of the system. Don't forget the phone is basically a small pc and unlike ppc devices can actually be powered off and not hibernate. Simply put how long does your own home pc take to boot up as? it's a very similar process.

Simply keep the phone on all day, once its in 'hibernate mode,' its really not consuming much, if not any batterly life. I would keep it on, what if u need urgently need to use it, oh hold up guys it takes 1 min for this puppy to fire up. I dont think u should tweak anything.

Do you think I should just leave it at it's default setting with ATT, since you mentioned not to tweak anything?

I have the SMT 5600, I had the first one, I played aroudn with it or somethin, installed some bad ass program and it badword up my phone, I had to send it in to audiovox, they couldn't fix it and so they replaced it. So I dont think u should 'push' it to much... cuz if it breaks, oh man, thats gonna be a costly problem.
Guest E_hekhuizen Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 and in stead of turning off your phone, you can alway's put it in "flight mode" so you don't get any incomming calls.

I'll try the flight mode. And I won't tweak it too much! Thanks for your help everyone!
