I've got my trusty Garmin Etrex sitting on my shelf here. I don't claim to have any idea what I'm talking about, but to get this working with my c500 is the driver issue something that *could* be resolved?

I spotted some funky cabling over at GpsPasSion that seems to work for the e200, but no mention of c500.

Is the problem something to do with the c500 being a serial slave thingy?

wow I didn't know about paypal like that. I will now strongly consider deleting my account, or removing credit card information and keep a few dollars in checking account when needed so they dont have access to my monies.

Hi jumbo4u2 unfortunately you cant use a wired GPS with the C500. It does not have a serial port and while it comes with a USB port it is only a slave port I.E. you can plug your phone into a computer etc but you cant plug anything else into your phone.

I did post an article a while back about a serial to Bluetooth converter but if you do not already own a GPS then it is not worth buying this then getting and then GPS Mouse as well.

A quick search from the GPS Warehouse (I got my old GPS mouse from there, good service) shows the cheapest GPS Mouse to be around £80 whereas there have been recent posts about other users using a cheap Bluetooth device for around £60 - £70

If you want to get into Sat Nav you are really going to need a Bluetooth GPS or go for a bundle like TomTom or Co-Pilot which come with a GPS.
