Guest deadpickle Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 I have been designing a new homescreen package and have run into a problem. I am using Homescreen Designer and am trying to make a background pic for when you are in the start menu. But I have noticed that if I use the same res that I use in the homescreen background (176x200) the pic is cliped quiet badly, so I was wondering if anyone knows the res I should use for this? My phone is an Audiovox SMT5600.
Guest energ Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 I have been asking the same thing. Even started a topic on it today, but no reply yet. I have been playing it around. The way I do it is that I make a homescreen just under the double size of the normal screen size (remember to maintain the ratio). When you upload it, Homescreen designer will shrink it to it's size. The Homescreen designer tends to scretch your image and it also seems to be higher. If anyone else have a better idea please let me know.

Guest drblow Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 No, the res for all the screens is 176x200, except for the startup & shutdown screens (176z220), and incall & dial screens (176x160). All others are without a shadow of a doubt, definately, 100% 176x200. There must be something screwy going on there somewhere. I don't use ruttensoft personally, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. But the screen size is correct.
Guest Jamma14 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) Don't want to go against the doctor...but arent homescreens 176x200 (minus 20 pixels for softkey buttons) startup/shutdown 176x220 and others 176x180?? (minus 20 pixels for iconbar and another 20 for the buttons) as that's what I've used before and it worked fine.. EDIT: Just measured a screenshot ;) Edited May 31, 2005 by Jamma14
Guest scottb Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) [snip...] others 176x180?? (minus 20 pixels for iconbar and another 20 for the buttons) as that's what I've used before and it worked fine.. EDIT: Just measured a screenshot ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can use 176x200 for these as well. Your background can extend up behind the icon bar. You do not have to use the icon bar's background color, it can be transparent. Edited May 31, 2005 by scottb
