On my C500 it works this way : you load the playlist in WMP ,click on a song to play ,press the "Home" key and after that press and hold the "No" key or the upper button (from where u shutdown the phone) and choose keylock .Depending of the time you have set in Settings/Power management/Display timeout the screen will go off,and the melody will keep on playing untill u stop it. Hope it helps ! ;)

Nope that doesn't do the trick, on the pocket pc version of windows mobile you got a power off button which turns off the display, but some programs seem to resume... i saw a registry tweak a while ago (not more then a week) that made media player continue playing... but dunno where anymore and can't find it anymore :'(

Use "MortPlayer" instead of Windows Media Player. It's better in every single way, and you can set up a key shortcut to switch off the display as you are looking for.

Mortplayer is the best PPC MP3 player certainly, but Spb PocketPlus gives you 'Minimise' options for all too.

You can configure with exceptions etc

Use psShutXP. It is a freeware. You could turn off the backlight and still continue programs running in the background.

on my m1000 you can hold down the standby/on button till the lights go off or go to media player options and chose button toggler and map the buttons just for media player and make one of them turn the light off ;)

I use this app, it switches off the screen and locks all buttons exept action.

(Credits go to Philippe Majerus for this app)

hmm that screensaver app seems to do the Trick..

BUT it seems to give me some problems... i have to press the power button several times :s... first it turns off the screensaver+programs then to press it again to turn it on again etc.... :S.. but interesting there is an app which can do it.. maybe i can make my own then ;)

thanks :D

You are meant to press the action button to switch it off.

Well i just finished my own application now ;P doesn't lock the buttons.. just turns off the screen.. thus letting me control media player while screen is off ;)
