Does this one look ok?

A friend of mine was that impressed with my C500, fortuna GPS and TomTom that he now wants the same. However, he wasn't too impressed by the price so is looking for cheaper alternatives. He found this receiver:

Has anyone got any experience/knowledge on this particular unit? I can't see anything to indicate it wouldn't be compatible.

It looks very much like the iTrek receiver I bought from Semsons which worked fine with CoPilot.

I've now found my original so want to sell mine but I wanted £50 for it!

I have one - or at least a model very, very close to it as it looks exactly the same - didn't get it from that site, but from an Ebay dealer. About the same price though with postage. Anyway - works a treat - setup was easy, works with my TomTom3 without any problems at all.

EDIT - sorry - didn't read your post. I use it with TomTom3 on a Dell Axim X50v PocketPC, not with my C500....I have a copy of TomTom mobile here that I wanted to text on the C500 but it didn't see the GPS unit at all. Guess it needs a geniune TomTom one.

There are plenty of posts as to how to get non TT devices to work with TT on the C500 but a) Not sure if this particular device will work (altjough I don't see why not) and ;) you can't buy TT without a receiver anyway.

I have TT mobile working on a C500 with a very similar gps receiver which I got on Ebay , it works a treat if you follow the instructions for non TT GPS
