Why is this in the PPC section when the smt5600 is a Smartphone?

The answer is NO - not yet. the C500 can be unlocked for free and they are working on the 5600 but how long it will take them is anybodies guess (especially as they are not making any money out od this so probably can't get their habnds on the hardware.)

At the moment imeicheck is the only option.

But then you'd know this if you read the smartphone forums trather than the PPC ones ;)
