Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I know there have been quite a few posts about pocketmusic and that they cant hear any difference in the music when they turn extra bass on. Well I have not long had my handset replaced by Orange and I thought that it was about time I updated my music collection and remembering an old post about using WMA instead of MP3 for low bitrates and mobile devices. Anyway I decided to convert all my mp3 files to wma and guess what... the extra bass now works, when I activate it you can hear quite a difference. Just thought I would let you all know.
Guest stormy Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 This is odd, I have version 2.0 (registered) on my C500 and Extra bass has always worked. I have only had the phone and version 2.0 a few weeks. It never worked for me on my old SPV and PM 1.1 but in version 2.0 it works just fine on my MP3s. Although if they are quite heavy in bass the headphones can distort badly by switching it on. Mike
Guest scrattyrat Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Anybody know how to aviod / what causes the 'stuttering' that seems to occur frequently with pocketmucic? Have paid for the full version and its really starting to annoy me
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Make sure you have as much free memory as possible or better still restart your phone. For mobile audio use encode your MP3's at 96Kbs or convert to 64Kbs WMA or OGG and try without equaliser or extra bass first. See how that goes.
Guest jakobdam Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I use MiniLyrics Magic - and turning up the bass is actually almost as good as in PocketMusic. BetaPlayer sounds really, really weird when you chuck up the bass in the equalizers - but MiniLyrics Magic comes quite close to PocketMusic. The only annoying thing about MiniLyrics Magic is that it doesn't have a "mute" function... but hey, not a bit prob - I'm just pausing instead of muting.. ;)
