Guest RocketMBA Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Hello, I recently updated the firmware on my MPx200 to a version of Windows Mobile 2003 EDIT This operation is successful, but I can never find anything along the lines of "Mounted Volume" in the File Manager. I'm not an idiot, I know that I'm looking in the right place; it's just not there. I've tried different cards, hard resets, the GSM patch, renaming the folder from Mounted Volume in the registry, differently formatted cards, all sorts. Occasionally, when a card is put in, I'm asked if I'd like it formatted. Saying yes yields an error. Despite this, we know that the card is indeed being detected. I'm just not fully sure why it's not showing up anywhere. Any ideas would be appreciated. Matt

This isn't a usual isue. It may be a corrupted ROM (with currupted registry). Or I think more likely a hardware issue. Try clearing SD slot contacts.
Guest RocketMBA Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Dodgy leaked illegal software is the way forward... There's a post around here that says you can change the name of the "Mounted Volume" by changing a registry key. I tried that once, that's all. The cards work flawlessly in 2002, and the slot is well dusted. It's quite odd.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 dodgy leaked software is certainly not the way forward, you want to use ilegal software you pay the price that sometimes it bites back. Also as there are no legal roms for the mpx200 for download, any version numbers will be removedas it only helps promote the roms.

Certainly the original ROM(s) are totally inferior to any WM2003 ROM. But if you have some new ROM or even it's something really different. In the latests ROMs there's a one day battery life boost over for example the 1000 or WM2003 ROMs.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 The original roms are in no way inferior to 2003. How can a rom that is more stable and have a better T9 be inferior?
