For some reason the clock on my C500 is occasionally reseting it's self to the factory default time and date. I have done a hard rest and this makes no difference. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar thing happen, and if you think it would be a hardware issue or what?

Thanks,

Dan.

Clocks reseting ussually mean a flat backup battery. Have you checked yours?

Nope, how does one recharge and/or replace it?

Cheers.

It should recharge automatically (use one of the battery monotoring pieces of software to check it is 100% charged.

I'm not sure it can be replaced, I think it's a case of a call to Orange who should replace under warranty if i's not working.

I have SmartMonitor running, but as far as I can tell it only gives the main battery power... do you know of any util's that will monitor the backup battery level.

The only problem I have going back to Orange and getting a warrenty replacement is that even though I am still on a minimum contract with them (and paying Orange care), I am actually living in Australia and using the phone unlocked (by imei-check) on Telstra. Presumably they would want to take my old phone back before they sent me a new one... if they didn't tell me my warrenty was void?? Which means I would be without it for quite a while.

well fizzmonitor shows my backup battery being at 100%, but I guess it doesn't tell me how quickly it loses it's charge when it is disconected from the main battery.

The link to the service manual post doesn't seem to work, can you check it again for me?

cheers.

My C500 has just started doing this now.

Whenever I remove the battery (even for just a second), when I restart that time and date has reset to 12:00 - 01 October 2004.
