Guest itsdraney Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 decision time.... do i renew my now battered SPV C500 or opt for the M2000 ? money normally an issue but have been given a budget from my company so.....plus and minus for both please
Guest Confucious Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 (edited) Depends wether you you want a smartphone or a pocketpc! The C500 is currently the best and I'm getting another one (probably) because I lost mine. If you can wait just over a month then the C550 is due out on 11/7/05 Smartphones and PPCs are aimed at different markets - although the iJam (soon? to be released as the Orange M500) blurs the line. If you use it primarily as a phone I've always found the PPCs to be far to big to use comfortably and a pain to carry everywhere. Horses for courses and all that. Edited June 1, 2005 by Confucious
Guest itsdraney Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 bit of both, usual toys, gaming and vids etc - not yet sorted out mp3 use but at work the ability to view files on phone is an advantage. at present i use repligo software which is ok but could be better - would the M2000 be able to support better software then ......not a techno wizard yet but learning fast !

Guest itsdraney Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 whats one of them then ? and is the C550 real ? no one from orange would give me an answer....have been shafted in the past so being cautious this time....bought a replacement spv 100 for my original spv only to find the nice people (!) at orange to bring out an spv200 with bluetooth two weeks later......therefore any advise from you in the know is helpfull
Guest commonpersonjustlykeverybody Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 @ itsdraney well if you're going to use a ppc phone, would rather wait for htc universal/mda iv/spv 3g. apparaently we are always having problem with the release dates of new device here in uk. and some statements, just confuses me everytime co'z they change their statements very often. if c550 won't have wm2005 i'd rather go with samsung i300 (is 3 or 4 gb hdd? and got a new features too)
Guest Confucious Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 The C550 is rumoured to be out on July 11th - but not confirmed. The M500 is available on Orange in Holland so *should* be available in the UK soon and is Orange's version of the jam. The universal probably won't be out fopr a long time (2006?) same with the samsung i300.
Guest itsdraney Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 cool....time for a think i reckon cheers guys

Guest extravagant Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 HMmmmmmmmmmmm cant wait till the HTC unviersal comes out or somethin
Guest ghostyjack Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Just had the June issue of the Orange mag dumped on my desk and the C550 is in it on page 68. Also the M500 is being listed on the Orange business intranet pages as coming soon, no date as of yet. As it's on the business pages it may be launched to business first (as the M1000 was) and several months later launched for consumers.
