Guest ak73 pro a Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 What I need is a piece of wire? and connected to this pin? Thanks for help.
Guest James Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 As long as you know the correct length of the 'pole' you can run an external antenna. cant quite remember the equation?? Freq/264 = Length?? But you can do this from the external port on the back of the phone (well you can on the C500). so no need to take it apart.
Guest Samsonite Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 (edited) oooh be careful... A radio transmitter needs a matched antenna attached to the power amp so that all of the transmitted power goes down the antenna and not get reflected back into the circuitry... If you dont get the correct impedance, capacitance, reactance etc from the additional bit of wire, you may pump 2 watts (or whatever these things pump out) straight into your reciver and that wont like it!!! Antennae need to be the correct wavelength which is the reciprocal of the frequency (1/f) or multiples of that for correct matching.. i wouldnt attempt this to be honest... but then i am a scaredy cat!!
