ActiveSync Server Sync via Bluetooth or USB

I have got my C500 to pick up emails off our Exchange server wirelessly, and that works brilliantly. Howerver, when I connect to my laptop via USB or bluetooth in order to sync everything else, it comes up with

Confirm

Unable to connect to your default connection.

Attempt a connection using Pass through instead?

If I reply Yes, then it uses the laptop's network connection, zips over the internet and synchronises fine. However, since I want to keep my email on my phone as well, I set the check for new mail on the server setting to be the minimum - 5 mins. So every 5 mins, it pops up asking if it should use Pass Through.

Is there a setting I can enable or disable that will make it automatically use Pass Through if available, or if the GPRS fails and Pass through is available, or something?

Under internet conection set it to Automatic and all should be well.
