Guest nigidivitch Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Having had a look at bluejackq.com I thought it'd be fun to try to send some messages around work, however upon further inspection it appears that none of the software required works on an MDA3 (HTC Blue Angel). Does anyone out there know either if there is any appropriate software out there or if any of the software I've seen (that says it doesn't work on the MDA3) actually does work? The ones I've seen are: SMan, Mobiluck, Freejack, and MeetingPoint Thanks
Guest rickyburke Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 not sure about the others but i know that meeting point does work.
Guest spacemonkey Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 I've got mobiluck going on my c500 and it seems really good. Not sure if it works on the blue angel, but you could try it's demo version which allows messaging people but not sending pics etc.
Guest nigidivitch Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Right then - thanks for your help so far... Have managed to download and install "Meetingpoint" - looks quite good (although clearly designed for a smartphone with a tiny little screen!!), but on reading the faqs on the site, it says that I need to be using the "Widcomm v1.4 bluetooth stack"? Since it doesn't appear that anyone in the office has bluetooth turned on at the moment, I can't verify whether it is working... Does anyone know whether I need this bluetooth stack (or if it's already on the MDA3), what it does, where I can get it, how i can install it (without destroying my phone!)... (etc!!!). Sorry for all the questions - I still think that BT confuses me!! ...then there's wireless of course!!! UGH!
Guest Gui_MobiLuck Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Hi, MobiLuck doesn't run on your HTC BlueAngel yet ;) We don't have one to test so... It's hard to develop! Concerning Bluetooth stacks, there are different things to know; - Windows Mobile Smartphones are running Microsoft BT stack - Windows Mobile HTC-Qtek also - The leader in BT stacks is Widcomm in on PC and PDA like Ipaqs, Loox... So software requirements can be different, depending on the stack installed on your device ;) (@ MobiLuck you'll need MS BT stack for instance :D)
Guest nigidivitch Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Cheers for all your help people! I've managed to send a few messages using Meeting Point now, so I'm pretty happy! It is quite amusing walking through a crowded office and as I pass people their phones all start beeping and buzzing!! "You're FIRED!" HA HA HA! Now I just need to work on my sense of humour!! I look forward to getting some software dedicated to the Blue Angel - just seems to be an issue of screen size at the moment?! Thanks again!
