Guest maude84 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Hi, I have a spv E200 and i have a problem with it calling the emergency service when my phone is locked and in my pocket.... Its a bit of an annoying problem and i was wondering if anyone could offer any advice about how to stop this from happening. Cheers for your time
Guest dodding nonkey Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 1. Buy a clamshell phone (says the mpx 200 user) 2. Stop putting it in your pocket Silly suggestions I know, but I couldn't stop myself!

Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 @maude84 I dont have an E200 but this tweak works on the C500 (I assume they have the same reg setup). This involves registry editing so please follow instructions carefully. TITLE: Change ECall Numbers to your desired numbers Target device: C500, wont work on Tanager, not tested on Voyager Our tool: RESCO File Explorer-Registry Editor This tweak lets you change the numbers without installing a cab file. Our target value is: 'List' of HKLM\Security\ECall It is a 'Multi-String' data with values 911, 112, 08, and 999 You can't simply change the numbers by editing the values since you'll get an error message: "Unable to perform this operation" What you do now is rename 'List' to 'ListX' Once renamed, create a new Multi-String Value, type 'List'. Edit the value data by entering say for example your country's ECall numbers, police hotline etc. You can also add several numbers to the existing list or just leave the list blank or type a space. Restart your phone for changes to take effect. ;) Our tweaked phone... I hope that helps.
Guest dodding nonkey Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 So if you changed the 'emergency number(s) to a string of zeros it would allow the phone to dial the number even if it was locked & in your pocket, but you would not risk incurring the wrath of the emergency services because it would not connect to anything. - Top Tweak m8. Problem solved - even if I do prefer my (rather silly) sollution!
