Can't install apps on my c500

Hi,

I've bought a UK Orange locked C500, which I already unlocked through www.imei-check.co.uk (20GBP).

I thought I would be out of trouble doing that but it appears that it's impossible to install any application (like on www.pocketpcfreewares.com) on the phone. Every time I'm trying to install a cab or a self installable EXE, I get the following message:

" failed to install on your device because installation file is not intented for this device" ;)

Is there only specific apps you can install on the C500 ?

looking at few fora, could it be related to application unlocking ?

You cannot install PPC software onto a Smartphone.

Despite the Windows Mobile name the Smartphone OS is different to the PPC one, mainly due to the stylus / one-handed operation styles.

It is a good idea to do the application unlock process too. See the pinned topics in the Help & Advice section.

Thanks for your answer. I'll do the app unlocking, but then could you indicate a good web site where I can find some apps that work with the SPV C500 ? For example I'm looking for an enhanced clock/alarm, do you know where I can find one on internet ?

The main 2 Smartphone software sites are Handango.com & Smartphone.net but I think there might be a free one in the Downloads section here.
