Guest machiavell1 Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 Quick question (Which I have asked in the Typhoon forum as well) - Basically, does the Mpx220's faster processor mean less lag or less of the dreaded wait symbol? How do you all find the 220 in it's function as a phone? Reception, freezzing at inopportune moments, voice clarity and volume etc... Thanks alot in advance!
Guest koutnyp Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Whats made low-end from mpx220 for users which use PDA or something else is connection to GPRS from other devices over mpx220. Its unbelievable that in this time exist device for which you must put something manually into modem terminal window at command. But on other site is much more better biger keyboard than on Typhoon and stabillity. However Typhoon with latest ROM 2.1.34.11 have better stabillity.
Guest Paraklas Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 I have an i-mate SP3i and a MPx220. Both of these phones are fast - no lagging at all. MPX220 calling valume was too low but this is fixed in the latest ROM releases and it's almost the same as the SP3i. Reception is awesome for the mpx220. I've seen signal -and made calls -in places that no other phone had service. SP3i has pretty strong signal as well so their difference is probably marginal. None of these phones has ever frozen at any given time.
Guest Yanio Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 I persoanlly haven't ever had a problem with the 220! my C500 used to freeze all the time and needed to have the batt pulled just to get it back on. The call quality on the Mpx is fantastic for me, and the camara is pretty good too. And i think it looks alot better. Iain
