Upgrade shopping

Hi,

have an Mpx200 due for upgrade in a few weeks, thought I'd have a look around on the web, went to phones4nobodies site, couldn't tell what operating system the phones were using, after three emails including one from them asking what I meant by Windows op. sys. I put it into words of one syllable, got the answer back they don't do any on their site, please visit the shop.

This I did, and was told after explaining [again] what I wanted was told that they don't do them as they were more hand held computers and they don't do computers.

Next stop, The Barphone warehouse, got offered a Nokia 9500 [ I think ] the assistant opened it and I said thats Symbian, he said "Fred what operating system is this" enough said.

Tried O7 with roughly the same result, then tried the Lemon shop and was offered a C500 I said they're nearly a year old, ah but we have this new one coming out, is it Win ver 5, I don't know he said.

Think I'll give up on upgrading and go pay as you go.

Right, back to The Barphone Warehouse, this cheap sim card Fresh, pay as you go, in your buyers guide the cost is 15p per minute, turn to page 52 for more info. there it's 5p per minute any call any time, which one's right ?, thats a special offer, half price "UM" whatever you do don't read the small print at the bottom of the page.

Next, try their website, Fresh>tarrifs £14-99 per month [supposed to be no line rental ], ended up sending them a mail, please mail me the correct figures, packed up and went to the pub ! ! , what a waste of a morning.

It seems you've retained your humour anyway, so you won't mind me pointing out that you've posted a Smartphone topic in the Pocket PC section :D ;)

Were I in your position I'd be looking at the C550. It may well be available when your upgrade is due - see News section. Don't expect the retailers to be at all informed at this late stage though, it's par for the course.
