PPC internet access via my laptop and activesync?

Not very clever when it comes to networks etc so please bear with me.

I've got a laptop which connects wirelessly to the web via an adsl router. Is it possible to get my PPC to 'borrow' that connection while it's connected to the laptop via activesync?

While connected to AS, if you tap the connected icon, what does it say in the popup?
