How to get chapters working in Betaplayer?

I've searched on google, the betaplayer forums and the pocketdivxencoder forums and have not found any information on how to rip a DVD to an encoded file (avi or ogm etc) while preserving the ability to jump to each chapter available on the DVD.

Here's a great example, I love to dance Salsa and have been ripping my latest new Salsa dance moves DVD with pocketdivxencoder so I can watch it on my phone whenever I have downtime. It would be great to be able to skip to dance move #35 instead of having to fast forward all the way to it each time.

If this is not possible I will explore ripping the DVD in a way where I create a movie file per chapter and just open each file I want to watch.

But Betaplayer obviously is supposed to support chapters. It's in the menu selection!

Anybody got this to work? Is it some specific encoding format that has the ability to store chapter information?

Thanks.

Well, I've found something that works.

It's software called DVD2OGM that uses a bunch of other software to rip a DVD and create a .ogm movie file.

Follow these instructions. It doesn't explicitly tell you how to get chapter information out but it worked for me.

The .ogm format is able to hold chapter information.

I now have a movie on my smt 5600 that I can jump to each chapter using the File -> Chapters option in betaplayer.

Good luck.
