I have a SPV C500 is there a program that starts to record video or take a photo when it detects movement in front of the camera?

Don't be so sure, I vaguely remember an application being released a while back that does something to this affect. I've searched around but haven't found it. Can anyone else help out??

Thats kinda impossible, what would you use to detect the movement?

If you can answer Q1, how would you attach it to the phone?

should be possible, if not ideal... have used each s/ware mentioned but not for this purpose...

if phone is cradled or otherwise synced, use either MSoft's screen viewer or something like SOTI's Pocket Controller, in conjunction with Luminositi SoftCam (set area of screen with C500's displayed repeated), and then either WebcamXP or Go1984 or similair, they will pick up SoftCam as a regular webcam, and you can use their motion detector systems... plenty to play wioth on webcam front btw...

There is an application for the smartphone called Ispy, it detects movement, you can set the threshold, if it does detect movement it will sound an alarm.

pretty simple really but effective I have tried it on my C500 and it works without any problems.

It detects movement by looking at changes in the image - kinda simply really!
