Hi All,

Im hoping some of you can answer some quick questions that I have.

Firstly, On my C500 there is a G in a white box in the status bar (near the battery and reception indicators). I'm assuming that this is showing that GPRS is connected. Is there any way to disconnect GPRS? (holding down the home button and selecting disconnect GPRS does not seem to work)

Secondly (maybe related) is there anyway to manually close applications in the same way as on a pocket PC? I get the feeling that applications are running in the background even when I dont want them to.

Thirdly, how do I send a file to another phone over bluetooth, and how do i receive a file?

I have looked aroud this forum and have seen many answers to questions that I previously had but cant seem to find the answer to these ones. Please help if you can! ;)

Welcome to the forum mate -

First off unfortunatly i have seen your post before someone else and so my initial reply will be this - Read your manual it contains alot of solutions to the basic workings of your phone. BUT I also think if someone needs help then that is what they shall get.

Right the Big G in the White box is showing GPRS is avalible - its not costing you money having it there. I expect theres a plugin to get rid of it but its actually a useful thing to have as it tells you where GPRS is avalible in your area.

GPRS is connected when the G appears in the signal bar. (the disconnect GPRS function you describe disconects this)

Manually closing programs START - - ACCESSORIES - - TASK MANAGER thats the application you need. It is possible to add it as a speed dial (in start menu before you open it select it, click MENU - ADD SPEED DIAL)

As far as sending / recieving files i use Smart Explorer - by a company called binarys. I downloaded it from coolsmartphone.com (which by the way is a great site to use)

Right well i hope that helps mate, feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

Thats brilliant, thanks for the ultra quick reply! ;)

Im quite happy to leave the GPRS indicator there now I know what it is for, I was just wondering if I had left an app running in the background that was using up my cash :D

I'll check out that site you mentioned, thanks again for the help!

No problem - Just to make sure the G you have is surrounded in white? and its roughly in the middle of the status bar? - thats the one that isn't costing.

Would be an idea to run MSN or internet explorer to familiarise yourself with the GPRS in use symbol
