Guest geekycomputerdork Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Since I don't have the smt5600 yet i was just wondering if maybe some general questions could be answered. I know that the c500 is really also 3 other phones the audiovox, the i-mate and one other i think. I guess I'm just wondering does that mean what is made to work for the c500 will work on the audiovox or no? Also i was checking out the Mac OS X theme in the homescreens forum and it says only works with the c500 because of a plugin.... Does that mean the SMT5600 doesn't have the plugin? What about functionality do they perform the same or are specs way to S*** on the audiovox compared to that of the C500? And as a final note is there a way to flash the SMT5600 into a C500? I'm sure some or all of this has been answered but as i tried to use the search functios i couldn't find anything comparing or answering questions about the two phone's differences. Thanks if i have any other questions i'll just post them in here.

C500 has a special plugin from the operator (orange) which is why the theme wont work however the phone is the same in specs etc, its only modified to fit the operators needs (configurations + extra plugins if necessary) otherwise everything is the same.

Guest Pondrew Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 (edited) The hardware as i know is the same to the phones u have mentioned (HTC TYPHOON ST20A) but the software makes the differnce. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not so much the software as the Rom (kind of where the software interfaces with the hardware...). All providers provide their own apps and tweaks in their individual roms. Edited June 8, 2005 by Pondrew
