Guest whatdoing367 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Please help. After forgetting to switch off my phone before removing my phone battery, i experienced some problems: First is the loss of data (personal settings, internet connection settings) Then i am unable to send/compose sms (the phone simply goes to the inbox when i try to compose). The inbox screen is very laggy and the 'envelope icon' which is supposed to be beside each sms is not there. Although i am able to receive sms, but i am unable to open it, seeing only its first line in the inbox window. Finally, there is a problem with the calendar. When i set a friend's birthday to a certain date, the calendar screen will show it to be a day earlier. On editting it, i found that the edit screen correctly displays the date(but the calendar still shows it to be a day earlier). I read(and thought) of a hard reset, but i wonder which apps will stay and which will be deleted. Please if anyone could help, tell me what to do, and if i really have to do a hard reset, which apps will stay. I would really appreciate some help.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 You have suffered from a partial reset which is caused by the registry becoming corupt. To get the phone up nd running again as it should you will need to do a hard reset.

I have one last question: will apps like file manager and photos be deleted too?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Depending on the phone they apps may be deleted but they would be on the cd that came with the phone if they were not on the rom. Basically a hard reset will restore the phone to it's factory settings. Personally I prefer Smart Explorer from binarys.com for my file manager.
