Hi,

I've had a look on the forum and can't find answers to these - sorry if I've missed them somewhere.

I've just got a c500.

1. Why is it that sometimes I can copy files to my storage card, but a while later, the system changes my cursor to a prohibited sign and will not let me copy to it. I'm trying to do this from windows explorer on my PC.

I can copy from explorer and paste via activesync, but surely this isn't the only way to do it ?

2. Someone was asking how to change the start menu and there were a couple of replies; 1 stated that it could be done easily from the PC using windows explorer - I've tried this and it won't let me do it. The second mentioned something called OTA, but I don't know what that is.

3. Do I need any specific software to play avi files? If so, which is recommended ?

4. On the top of the screen, there is a list of recently used apps that changes everytime I use another one. Is it possibe to change this to always show the same set of apps, say my favourite 5 ?

5. I imported the numbers from my sim card, expecting them to merge with my contacts where the name was the same (wadda mistakea to makea). Is there a way of doing this or will I have to re-enter all my sim numbers into their respective contacts?

8. I have a number of contacts in Outlook on my PC that I don't want on my phone. Is there a way of ommitting them from the sync process ?

thanks

Good choice - had mine for a couple of months now and it's the best phone I have ever owned.

I'll answer what I can:

I use Betaplayer http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/download on my C500 as well as on my Axim X50v and it plays my AVI's just fine.

8. I have a number of contacts in Outlook on my PC that I don't want on my phone. Is there a way of ommitting them from the sync process ?

Yes - use categories. If you create two categories in Outlook on the desktop, one called Desktop Only and one called Mobile (or whatever you want), you can set up Activesync to only sync certain categories. Then you can just add contacts to the categories to by sync'd.

So set up Activesync, just open it up and click Options, then highlight Contacts and click settings and there you can select what categories to sync.

Hope these help a bit.

Bryan.
