Keypad not responding

Hi all.

My phone has recently developed a problem. On the homescreen everything works except the numbers on the keypad. But when I acess the start menu it works again i.e pressing 9 to scroll through. Also it is constantly saying No Service in the service provider space? I have de-certified the phone and programs still run but cannot receive any incoming signal or dial any numbers? Anybody experienced this before? Also if I decide to hard reset what will i lose?
