c500 bad signal?

i constantly get signals of under 20 % i have that plugin deal, im runnin the q-tek 2.1.32.11 firmware and there is a t-mobile tower like less than 4 blocks down the street, and im only getting this crappy signal, is there somthing i can do to phone to get better signal
