I put some wma files on my memory card. It will let me use them as a general ring. But if I try and do a personilzed ring tone, it only lets me do the ones preloaded on the phone. I downloaded Jeyo. That wont let me do it either. Also when I put a wma file on the phones memory in the windows folder. It will not work. The phone says something is wrong with the file. But if its off the memory card its fine. Someone please help.

Welcome to the site ;)

Custom ringtones can only be placed on the phones memory in Storage\Application Data\Sounds

You should not place any ringtones in the main Windows folder as they will be deleted when you reboot the phone as this folder is rewritten every time the phone starts up.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND NO MATTER WHATR IT WILL NOT LET ME ASSIGN A WMA RINGTONE TO A CONTACT. ONLY A WAV RINGTONE. BUT WAV TONES ARE MUCH BIGGER THAN WMA'S . ANY EXPLANATION ON THIS ANYWHERE??

I HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS I600 OWNERS LIKE MYSELF WONDERING WHY THIS DOESNT WORK

Thanks for the welcome. I am slowly trying to figure my phone out. When I put the wma files in the folder you said. It does not list them for me to use. On the up side, I found a program called jeyo. Which allows to change the ring tones for the text messages & voice mail.

I found a way to use the wma files for custon ring tones. But the file in Storage/Aplication Data/sounds After you put them in there. Turn the phone off, then back on. Then go to your contacts and they should be in the list.

OK THIS IS TRUE, YOU WILL SEE THEM

BUT IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CHOOSE ANY WMA RINGTONE FOR CONTACTS

WHAT KIND GLITCH IS THIS. ???

IT PLAYS FOR THE GENERAL RINGTONE BUT NOT THE CONTACTS.

ALL OF THESE PROGRAMMERS HERE AND NO-ONE HAS MADE A WORKAROUND ???

SOMEONE ANYONE I600 USERS NEED TO BE ABLE TO USE WMA'S AS RINGTONES THEY ARE ABOUT 1/4 THE SIZE !!!!!
