Guest Wombleuk Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Just tried using messaging for the first time and it's either a pile of poo or I'm doing something wrong ! I went into messaging, selected a contact, waited for it to give me a list of possible numbers, but nothing. So I hit send, expecting it to come up with a list of possible numbers and.... I was informed that the message had been sent successfully..... to someone who doesn't even have a phone number in their contact details. Surely there must be better than this ?
Guest Confused Stu Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 What did the contact have stored on it? If there's only one option (say you've only got one number or one e-mail address stored on a contact) it's clever enough not to ask which of your one you want to use. Don't forget, you can text to landlines (in the UK anyway) so it doesn't just look for a mobile number anymore! ;)
Guest Wombleuk Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Thought of that , that's why I sent a message to someone with no phone number at all and one to someone with multiple numbers.
Guest Wombleuk Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Oops, apologies. They DID both have one number, but it was a landline. And even though we can send texts to landlines in the UK, we don't always want to do it. B-(
Guest Confused Stu Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Very true - one thing I learnt a while back was don't send a sweary text meant for your friend Graham's mobile to your Gran's landline by mistake! I'm sure you can work out the rest of the story for yourself.....
