Guest Dade Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 As an IT Professional (Honestly!), I use a USB memory key. I find that the size and convenience of having a USB key to had has been invaluable, I always have the tools and apps that I need close to hand. I wondered if there were any other folks out there like me that have useful tools stored on their USB keys, perhaps I we may find out about some other useful apps that we all have to have! I have a 1gb Key that is about half full at the moment and has the following on it: An installer for a bespoke program that we use at work. All my important word documents. A copy of the Contacts from my Outlook. A copy of popcorn for checking my pop3 email. A couple of registry files for setting things up on work PC’s UPX for making EXE’s smaller. Acrobat Reader EasyZip 2000 Citrix Client Installer Magic Jellybean for finding out what Office and Windows versions and Keys are on a PC PHPdesigner Pocket Divx Encoder Powerpoint Viewer Primo PDF creator Microsoft’s PST recovery tool – for when PST’s exceed 2gb VNC Anyone else use any must-have’s?
Guest TigerNet Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 ...if you use an iPod Shuffle as your key, you also have your tunes on it!!! Cheers Nick

Guest chrisbpr Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 where can i get the popcorn email program from ???
Guest Dade Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Not sure where/if you can get it now as ultrafunk have now closed down. The version I have is years old when it was still free. You might find it out on the web somewhere.
Guest Matt Kirby Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 Depending on how much space you have I would recomend looking at Portable Thunderbird for email on the move, there is also a Portable Firefox as well. I use both on an external HD and they work so well I don't use anything else. There are a few limits when using them on memory keys, but I would suggest looking at Protable Thunderbird rather than trying to find Popcorn.
Guest Dade Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Great heads up there Matt, Thunderbird rocks!!
