MSN Messenger not working? Plz help

I've got an mpx220 with an o2 UK payandgo sim card. I want to use msn, but whenever I try to log in it says "Sign-in to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding. Try again later." ....and I've had this message every time I tried...for about 6 months. I've set up the internet and everything using settings I found on this post and I've been able to surf the internet using pocket explorer, so I don't understand why msn isnt working - could someone please help me because it would be great to be able to use my phone to its full potencial. Thanks.
