http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=4861 has the Vodafone settings.

On a C500,

Start --> Settings --> More --> Data Connections --> Menu --> Edit Connections etc etc.

Cheers for the information...I would really appreciate if someone could confirm if the setting given above work with spv c500 and it is all legit.

If it's wrong, it simply won't work. I used the GPRS settings on Vodafone no problems. IIRC the MMS settings didn't work, but it was some time ago that I did it - probably just wasn't enabled on that account. (Wasn't my phone.)

As for legit? Absoluetly no idea - I'm not a lawyer, just some ordinary bloke. 8)

The only problem is that it asks for the primary and 2ndry DNS for which i donot have option for on SPV when i go in to edit the settings. Any ideas!!!!!

So u think if asked vodafone to send me the sim update i.e gprs setting to the phone will work?

Which SPV do you have?

I only ever once asked a provider to send settings to my phone. It installed so much guff, I vowed never to do it again - so I do it manually now. It was a bit like installing the AOL suite of software on a PC. ;)

Start --> Settings --> More --> Data Connections --> Menu --> Edit Connections --> GPRS Connections --> Menu --> Add

You should have the following fields:

Description

Connect to

Access Point

User name

[scroll down]

Password

Primary DNS

Secondary DNS

IP address

What do you see instead?

I have added a new gprs vodafone connection but orange settings and connections are still visible..when i try to go to internet explorer it does not connect and gives the error message " Unable to connect verify you have the network coverage".

Mind you the coverage is fine.

Do i now need to remove orange connections ?

Do i also need to add wap settings?

Please help

You don't actually "need" to, but if you're not going to be using the phone on Orange, then I would get rid of them and anything else "Orange-esque" lying around.

Not to fix this problem.

Please help

I'm doing my best. ;)

Open up IE --> Menu --> Options --> Connections

Try this: Remove the tick from the box and set "select network" to "The Internet". If that doesn't work, try putting the tick back in see what gives.
