Guest Kanga Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 Has anyone managed to connect an additional USB webcam to their C500 and view the image on the phone's screen? I'm wanting to use this facility if possible to monitor my daughter in her rear facing car seat whilst I am sat in the front of the car. In theory it should be possible, a usb webcam linked to an extension cable feeding into the C500, all that would be required is the correct driver for the camera and some software to display the image. It may also be possible to supply power for the phone via a USB hub plugged into the 12V supply in the car or as I've done for my GPS receiver, attach an additional 12V socket, out of sight, behind the dashboard. Looking forward to reading the threads... Kanga.
Guest muff Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 wouldn't it just be easier to setup 2 mirrors to do the same job?

Guest xenophobe Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 If you really think that's possible, C500 powering a usb webcam, you should switch back to your tin cans and wet string. lol

Not sure whether this is true or not. I'm a little surprised by the lack of enthusiasm though from the forum members. Maybe I'm a sad geek? :?:
