Having spent the day rolling around the beach yesterday i had to dig a mini stone out of the charge socket of my c500 . . . which was fun :?:

I found my self noticing the dust getting worse again, and i can't be bothered send it off to anyone... was gonna clean it my self using the guide i found round here (thanks to the person that did that)

BUT I have to have my c500 till next feb, and thats a long time to go with a voided warranty, you know if the keypad goes, or something like that.

What i would like to know from those of you who have an elderly c500 is are there any problems that i can look forward to, which could be easily sorted by warranty cover? or should i just do it?

The dust was a big problem for me, other than that as long as you keep it clean [application wise and case wise] then I cant for see any problems.

Why are you fed up with changing it? I called up and blast at O Customer Services and had one sent to me before 9 next day. Just make sure you ask for the colour you want.

I have since bought a screen cover off Ebay and the Rubber stretchy case thing that was reviewed on Cool smart phone and i haven't had any dust problems as of yet *touches wood with fingers crossed*

I finally managed to get mine changed by OCS for the dust issue. I have phoned them periodically for a couple of months, each time asking them to note down that I was complaining about dust ingress. Eventually they relented and sent me a new phone as a warranty replacement.

Oh i know its all easy to get it changed, and i have no problems with dealing with OCS, but this is the 3rd C500 i've had, i can't be bothered with a new one AND it'll cost me £15 this time, i can't push for another free one because is over a month since the last replacement AND the last 2 were free.

Will get a whiskey and clean it myself sometime ;)

Mine has dust, which doesn't bother me much. The dust only stands out when I'm outdoors. The only other problem I'm having is the down direction on the rocker dealy thing is starting to go. I haven't blasted it with any compressed air, but usually when it doesn't register the down action, I will blow into that area, and it will begin working again.

I'm probably still under waranty, but I paid 30 bucks to have the phone unlocked, and don't want to do that again. Plus, I'm probably going to buy a new WM phone when it comes out (can't wait for the samsung)
